Well, what can you say about Bizau, or how should I describe it? As a boy I wanted to leave and go out into the wide world. 20 years later, things look a little different. Bizau is characterized by modern wooden architecture, but has still managed to retain its village character. We are surrounded by meadows, forests and mountains.

Our high moor landscape, flanked by gentle hills and the rocky silhouette of the Kanisfluh, allows for a lot - from walks to bike tours to hikes and mountain tours. In winter you can choose from three ski resorts, easily accessible by public transport. I also find it fun to go on a snowshoe hike or try the cross-country ski trail - the entrance is right behind the house.

Exercise in the fresh air. This is good at any time of the year.

Uf das Gmüondele kaste vorlau, Mügod ou d`Jauhr vorgau, des ist gad ebo glie, z´Büzo ist as allad frie.

Werner Bischof, dialect poet from Bizau (born 1920)
When I returned to the Bregenzerwald after 13 years abroad in Europe and the USA, Bizau was still exactly as I remembered it. The people of Bizau have a very strong regional self-confidence. This characterizes everything from the building culture to the little things in everyday life. What fascinates me is the unique balance of serenity and bustle that I see even in the youngest children as they march past the SCHWANEN and the church across the village square to the kindergarten or school. Anyone who approaches the SCHWANEN along the Bizauer Bach stream via the country road immediately senses that this area is suitable for valuable offline time, focused on the here and now and connected with oneself.

I like this spot on earth, which is still spared from the noise of our hectic times.

See you soon at SCHWANEN!
